Ryan Gosling was photographed last week with "Heroes" cutie Hayden Panettiere, but Tuesday night he only had eyes for Heath Ledger's ex, Michelle Williams. The two had dinner at Piadina and were caught by onlookers having a cozy cigarette outside the West 10th Street eatery. The star of "Lars and the Real Girl" was "smiling and gazing at her," said our witness. Reps for both said they weren't on a date, but just discussing an upcoming film project they're working on together.

Is there romance in the air for Canadian rocker/photographer Bryan Adams and Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson? Reports in the British papers have linked the couple in recent days, suggesting Macpherson got flirtatious with Adams at a private party at his London home on Tuesday, following the opening of his latest photography exhibit. "Elle and Bryan are great friends. That's all I know," said Adams's rep. Macpherson, 44, split with longtime partner Arpad Busson, with whom she has two sons, in 2005. Adams, 48, has never married or had children.

On the two-year anniversary of her split from Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson has a new man in her life: Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Romo has been linked in recent months to Sophia Bush, Britney Spears and Alli Sims. He has also dated Carrie Underwood. The singer, 27, spent Thanksgiving with Romo. She also showed up to watch him at a Texas home game Thanksgiving Day and referred to him as "my man" to friends. The new couple dined at the Dragonfly restaurant in the Hotel ZaZa in Dallas with Simpson's parents, Joe and Tina, and her friend and former assistant CaCee Cobb and her beau Donald Faison.

New couple alert? Maybe Ashley Olsen and Lance Armstrong have started a trend. Mandy Moore, 23 and Matthew Perry, 38, were spotted on a date at Amici Trattoria in Beverly Hills last week. One source said, "He was already seated and waited for her for 15 minutes until she arrived. He stood up to greet her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. They were holding hands across the table and being really close and laughing the whole time."

Christina Applegate and Jonathan Schaech's divorce was finalized in August, but the former couple apparently still have eyes for each other. Applegate, 35, and Schaech, 38, ran into each other unexpectedly at LA hotspot Les Deux on Friday night - and ended up having a close encounter. "They just made out all of a sudden," said an observer. "They didn't really look around to see who was looking, it just happened, but it wasn't weird after. They just went along talking to friends and separated soon after and both kept partying." The former pair were also seen holding hands, but each ended the evening with pals. Applegate was hanging out with girlfriends Eva Longoria and Sara Ramirez. A rep for the Samantha Who? star said, "I do not comment on clients' personal lives."

Rihanna has finally confirmed that she is dating actor Josh Hartnett. Although the couple has been careful to keep their relationship a quiet, a photo emerged of the pair in a liplock last month. "I've fallen for him big time," the R+B star said at the World Music Awards this weekend. "He is so hot and he is really sweet to me. When we hang out it feels right - even though it's still pretty new."

A bar spy said, "They came together with a group of friends. Ashley drank red wine, sat on his lap and they were making out all night. They left together around 2 a.m." Another insider said, "Ashley and Lance settled in and within minutes, he was whispering in her ear and she was giggling like a schoolgirl.
