Cruise's personal mission impossible

Speaking at a press conference today in Rome for Mission: Impossible 3, Tom Cruise said, "My own mission impossible was getting here. That was the mission impossible. Because it kept going back and forth. I wasn't going to come and then Kate said, you know, 'Go. Go.' So I'm here. And I'll be here for a few hours and then I'll get back on an airplane and go back home to Kate and Suri. My daughter has just been born and I want to be close to her. I thought about not coming to Rome, but Kate said go and have fun." Cruise also revealed recently that Suri was born exactly a year to the day that he met Katie for the first time.

Sheen responds

Charlie Sheen has publicly responded to estranged wife's recent allegations buy insisting she timed them to deliberately sabotage the launch of his new children's clothing line, Sheen Kidz. "It happened on a Friday and the kids clothing thing is launching on Saturday. Coincidence? We think not. I'm launching Sheen Kidz and my kids aren't here," the actor said. Though the couple signed a confidentiality agreement stating they would not talk about their divorce proceedings, Sheen says, "I can't stand back and just be a whipping post and hide behind a gag order advised by counsel." Richards has not actually spoken to press about the divorce, but contents of the papers she filed in court were leaked to the media.

Shannen's new show

Shannen Doherty is set to star in a reality show about her breaking up other people's relationships. The show will feature Shannen helping to "rescue people trapped in toxic relationships." The 90210 alum will "go undercover to assess the situation of her client and, if a relationship seems doomed, she'll instigate a break-up." Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty will air on the Oxygen network over the summer.

Tom says tabloid journalists are sad

Tom Cruise now says that journalists who generate tabloid headlines are unhappy in their own lives. "When I look at the people who write or say these things, I realize it's not a lot of people doing it. It's just a few people, trying to take advantage of sensationalism," the new father said. "You just have to be who you are. Because when I meet these people, they seem really unhappy to me. And that's too bad. Because I'm happy. Cruise is seen here today in Rome at the Mission: Impossible 3 world premiere.
