Lindsay picks up Paris's leftovers

Lindsay Lohan is now spending time with her ex, Stavros Niarchos, after she dumped rehab buddy Riley Giles a week ago. Niarchos, who used to date both Lohan and her frenemy Paris Hilton, is this time sticking with the newly sober star. Hilton showed up to a party for the anti-smoking lozenge Ariva at Crimson in Hollywood the other night and tried to hook up with Niarchos - who, spies said, "wanted nothing to do with her and seemed so annoyed by her, he left the party" to go hang with Lohan. Hilton, unaware she had irked Niarchos, was then seen wandering around "asking where Stavros had gone." Meanwhile, someone tried unsuccessfully to sell Lohan family Thanksgiving photos to the weeklies. A source said, "This person wanted $100,000 for a picture of Lindsay cutting the turkey surrounded by [mom] Dina and [sister] Ali. But [a week after the holiday] it wasn't timely. The price came down to $10,000, but no one bought them."

Teri Hatcher sued by cosmetics company

Has Teri Hatcher been paying lip service to competing cosmetic companies? According to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the 42-year-old actress signed an "exclusive endorsement deal" with Hydroderm in 2005 – only to sing the praises of City Cosmetics. The Desperate Housewives star even posed for pictures applying CityLips pout plumper (a direct competitor to Hydroderm's Volumizing Lip Serum), the suit alleges. "Hatcher's name, image and likeness have been linked to so many competitors' products (at least 17!) that it is anyone's guess as to what product keeps her skin and lips youthful," said the lawsuit. The company is demanding a complete refund of the $2.4 million endorsement deal, plus $400,000 in expenses, all "due immediately." In a statement, Hatcher's legal representative called the allegations an "unjustified and public assault on Teri Hatcher's good name, reputation and celebrity." In addition to labeling the claims "totally false," the statement continued: "Ms. Hatcher will respond swiftly and decisively by appropriate legal means to recover everything she is owed under her contract, as well as compensatory and punitive damages for Hydroderm's outrageous accusations.

Charges against JRM dropped

Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been cleared of two charges of public drunkenness and breach of the peace after the Irish actor apologized for an outburst last month. Rhys Meyers, 30, was arrested November 18 for his drunken and erratic behavior after he was denied permission to board a flight to London at Dublin airport. His attorney told the Associated Press that Rhys Meyers — whose mother, Geraldine, 50, died of a sudden illness November 21 — "unreservedly apologizes" to airport security guards and staff and police. He also plans to make a donation to an unspecified charity as a way to make up for his wrongdoing, according to the AP.

Britney's buddy is bad news

Since last summer, when Britney Spears's pal Sam Lutfi appeared out of nowhere, the 33-year-old so-called film producer has become an integral part of the pop singer's life. He's called Ryan Seacrest's radio show to denounce rumors that she's pregnant, organized her 26th birthday party and stayed overnight at her homes — platonically. But there may be good reason for concern. Lutfi has had two restraining order against him for violent verbal and physical attacks, according to complaints obtained by Us mag, and has gone by multiple aliases, including Osama N. Lutti and Osamah N. Lutfi. In a 2005 complaint, Jumana Issa, a business acquaintance, claims Lutfi "harassed me repeatedly with obscene e-mails, offensive faxes, telephone voice mails (around 1 a.m. to 3 a.m.), out-of-control behavior and outrageous telephone hang-ups (around 15 to 30 a day)." In one fax, Lutfi scolded: "Peel yourself away from all the candy ... and overhangin [sic] belly ... and answer my e-mails." His former neighbor, Douglas Snoland, filed a similar complaint in 2004, alleging that Lutfi tried to kick down his front door when he suspected Snoland of having his car towed. Snoland also accused Lutfi of wanting to kill his 73-year-old disabled mother. In the complaint, Snoland accused Lutfi of saying: "I will beat your ass ... Your mother is a f-----g old hag. You are a f----t. You will regret the day you ever met me." Lutfi’s attorney denied the threats, but a judge granted a three-year restraining order to Lutfi to stay at least 15 feet away from Snoland and his mom. As for his past work history, he is listed as a producer of the 1998 B-movie Bug Buster on imdb.com. The movie's actual producer and director, Lorenzo Doumani, says Lutfi was his $350-a-week assistant. "He was a hustler type, a fast-talking kid," recalls Doumani. Now Spears' pals worry he is in her life under false pretenses. "They are frightened," says a source close to her parents, Jaime and Lynne.. "They know she is being taken advantage of." "She's so desperate for a friend that it's easy once you get in there," adds a pal.

Brangelina to spend the holidays in New Orleans

The jet-setting Brangelina clan are spending the holidays in New Orleans. Angelina Jolie spoke to Usmagazine.com at Monday's Hot Pink Party in New Orlean's Lower Ninth Ward, where Brad Pitt launched his new "Make It Right" foundation. Son Maddox, 6, was also on-hand. “I’m working on a film [The Changeling in L.A.], but we’ll be back for Christmastime,” Jolie, 32, said. “We’ll be here through Christmas.” (The family bought a $3.5 million mansion in the French Quarter last January.) Though Jolie didn't glam up in one of her usual red carpet looks, she donned a chic black trench coat, a fashion fave for the actress. When asked the age-old question if she were pregnant, Jolie's eyes widened and she replied, "No." During the event, Jolie chatted with locals, but cut the conversation short when Jerry Lee Lewis ("Great Balls of Fire") took the stage. Pitt was also excited, as he snapped photos of the singing legend on his digital camera.

Britney Spears nearly skipped her chance to make a $500,000 music video - but showed up when she realized her Jive Records label was about to give the shot to a younger, up-and-coming singer"Britney was supposed to shoot a video for her song 'Pieces of Me' last Tuesday at Social Hollywood," says a well-placed Jive insider. "Jive hired Wayne Isham to direct, had all the dancers there - hair, makeup and everything," the source added. "But she refused to come. Jive was really upset. They were already paying everyone overtime, and finally Britney showed up 12 hours late - but only after they told her they were going to give the video shoot to another Jive artist, Samantha Jade." Jade, a rising star on the label, was told to be on call to shoot her video for her single "Eyes on Me," the insider said. Rather than write off the shoot's expense, the record company was set to have Jade step in and use the team assembled for Spears' video. "They were going to recalibrate it for Samantha, because it was too expensive to just scrap," said the source. "Britney finally showed up when she realized a new, younger, hotter girl would take her slot." On Saturday, as Spears celebrated her 26th birthday, she had to deal with her scene-stealing frenemy Paris Hilton, who showed up at the Scandinavian Mansion of Style in Bel-Air. "Britney was inside with Sam Lufti and Ali Sims," one partygoer said. "When Paris saw Britney leaving, she desperately raced out to walk her to her car."

Christian Bale tapped for Terminator IV

Christian Bale is close to a deal to play future warrior John Connor in "Terminator Salvation," the fourth film in the "Terminator" franchise. News of Bale's casting in the McG-directed franchise pic first started circulating the internet nearly two weeks ago, but the industry trade papers are only getting around to reporting it now, perhaps because negotiations have advanced. The various online rumors also had minor difficulties nailing down which role Bale was tapped for in the film, which begins production in April in Budapest. Reports had the "Newsies" actor playing Connor, a possible Terminator or maybe even a third unknown character in the Warner Bros. project. Both trades now agree that Bale will play Connor, stepping into a role embodied by Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl on the big screen and Thomas Dekker in the FOX midseason drama "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles." As befits Bale's casting, the fourth film's John Connor will be in his 30s, beginning to fulfill the destiny so frequently discussed in the mega-grossing early installments. Bale is currently appearing on the big screen as one of the Bob Dylan personas in "I'm Not There." Also seen this year in "3:10 to Yuma" and "Rescue Dawn," Bale has a second turn as Batman/Bruce Wayne, titled "The Dark Knight," set for release next season.
